Tech-news BS detector: real breakthrough or hype?

Answer eight questions before you forward a headline that sounds too clean.

This tool does not judge truth or quality for you. There is no AI behind it. It simply walks through signals that make a technology story easier to trust or easier to question.

1. Does the story name the institution, lab or company that did the work?
2. Does it link to a paper, official release or technical source?
3. Does it say what was measured, not only what was claimed?
4. Does it explain the limits or remaining problems?
5. Does it separate lab demo from real product use?
6. Does another credible source cover the same result?
7. Does it use absolute hype words like forever changes everything?
8. Does it include precise numbers without a source?

    How to use the result

A green result means the story has the basic shape of evidence. It does not mean the claim is true. A warning result means you should find the primary source before you share or act on it.
